Investing in Education for a Brighter Future
The Challenge
School completion and college attendance rates are consistently lower in rural and underserved areas.
Great teaching can change that. But due to obstacles like isolation, teacher shortages, and limited access to professional learning, schools in rural and underserved communities are hit hardest. COVID widened the equity gap and further stymied education gains.
Our Solution
Locally-Led
TeachUNITED elevates educators and inspires them to act as engines for improvement in their communities.
Rather than imposing a one-size fits all program on school systems, our iterative program and delivery arises from local demand, need, and participant feedback. Deep local partnerships focus on transferable skills-based training.
Teachers = Solution
TeachUNITED is successfully tackling the learning crisis by investing in teachers, one of the most powerful levers for addressing inequities in education.
Our model for education transformation stands out from other teacher training programs due to our high-touch coaching-based program design, pedagogy-based strategies, and long-term commitment to educators.
Outcomes Focused
TeachUNITED helps girls stay in school longer, prepares more kids to graduate, and ensures great teachers stay in the profession.
Our program empowers educators with high-impact instructional strategies needed to increase academic achievement, help students reach their full potential, and break cycles of poverty. We’re seeing demonstrated impact.
The Impact of Scale
TeachUNITED’s goal is to reach 3 million students by 2030. That’s 3M students with access to a more motivated, effective teacher.
Our focus on scale is a celebration ONLY when there is measurable positive impact for our partner schools, teachers, and kids. Our impact drives us to reach as many teachers and students as possible. We can’t do it without you.
Working with and for our partners
TeachUNITED is excited to announce a partnership in Uganda with Girl Up Initiative Uganda. Building a vibrant movement of girls and young women, Girl Up Initiative Uganda is working to build a gender-equal world where girls thrive and lead. Given TeachUNITED’s track record for significantly improving educational outcomes for girls (pass rates, math and literacy scores), this partnership is truly a great alignment.
Ninos en Alegria (NEA) believes one of the most relevant factors for the achievement of expected learning in students is the quality of teachers. And we enthusiastically agree! Aligned with NEA’s mission to improve the conditions of primary schools throughout Guerrero, Mexico, TeachUNITED will provide teacher training and coaching. Those lead teachers will go on to coach over 200 teachers.
The possibilities of doing really impactful work multiply when you find a partner whose mission marches hand in hand with your own. TeachUNITED’s mission of providing education-based NGOs and schools around the world access to world-class training and the mission of FUNSEPA to contribute to the development of Guatemala, improving education through technology represent two such missions, and we are thrilled to announce our partnership—we’re all in this together!
The Toa Nafasi Project is an expert in serving the schools in their community. TeachUNITED is an expert in providing educator training that creates lasting impact in school and districts. The two non-profits worked together to bring this expert teacher training to schools that Toa Nafasi works with in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania to support both teachers and students most in need. Read about the partnership between The Toa Nafasi Project and TeachUNITED.
