Middle school is a critical time for students, and teachers need adequate tools and training to play a pivotal role in the classroom. Students need a nurturing school environment and passionate teachers that inspire them to embrace learning while fostering academic, social, and emotional growth. TeachUNITED’s programs support and elevate local teachers and school leaders to help them become changemakers within their school communities. My wife Maria and I became involved in 2017 as a donor based on our enthusiasm for TeachUNITED’s
mission—we believe that childhood education is one of the best ways to fight global poverty and improve lives. Our motivation is driven by the continuity in the mission and great leadership that is getting the job done! In our opinion, the most important work that TeachUNITED does is enhancing education for kids around the world.
Teacher coaching is at the top of the list of effective levers to improve student outcomes. I find it particularly compelling that TeachUNITED is bringing its experience to rural communities. They are continually building on the remarkably strong outcomes they are getting in the schools in which they work. The organization, at the cusp of significant scale,
is a strong program that has the potential to reach children in rural communities all over the country and the world.
